Intermittent behaviors in weakly coupled piecewise-expanding map lattices

Abstract:Since 1980s, the existence of absolutely continuous invariant measures for weakly coupled piecewise-expanding map lattices (WCPEML) have been obtained by a functional analysis method. However, most of these results are not enough to study intermittent behaviors in WCPEML, which is observed almost everywhere in Lebesgue measure. Recently, we proposed a new method and proved this behavior. More precisely, we show that in WCPEML with two nodes, for almost every initial points, it holds that and , where , correspond to the coordinates of two nodes at the iterative step . We also prove the same conclusion for weakly coupled tent-map lattices with any multi-nodes.
