Dr. Tianwen Luo got his Ph.D at the Chinese University of Hong Kong under Prof. Zhouping Xin in 2015. His main area of interest is in partial differential equations. His research focus has been in the uniqueness problem of weak solutions of the Euler equations. He and his collaborators constructed a class of admissible weak solutions with finitely many states to the multi-dimensional compressible Euler systems, and showed the non-uniqueness of admissible weak solutions under damping and rotating forces. He also constructed Holder continuous weak solutions to the three-dimensional Prandtl system. He was awarded the Master Thesis Golden Prize of New World Mathematics Awards 2012. He joins YMSC as an assistant professor of YMSC from March, 2016.
